Try out the Canon EF 180/3.5L Macro; there's one in the TCW window going slightly above 2k.

I think Sigma n Tamron also offer 180mm macros but i've not seen one.

There's also a 100/2.8 macro in TCW going for $620, if your budget is tighter.

i saw the two items yesterday (11 Sep), so should still be there.

I believe I saw that one on Wed (b4 going for SEED). $620 is a pretty good deal IMO. But no idea of its overall condition tho...
