This is crazy... the FOV is great for portraits but 1K !!! If the rendering and contrast can match the 77 and the bokeh is as good as my 85... then its worth every penny, else i would have to be out of my mind to get this, especially during times like this... ![]() I can imagaine the pricing here in SIN would be even more spectacular ![]() common...someone show me pics from this baby and made me go out of my mind to get this lens ![]()

Luckily we still have our 50mm F/1.4 to give us our "fixes".
![]() But understandbly, this is a brand new model, hence Pentax hopes to be able to benefit from some market skimming from the early adopters. After 6 months to a year, likely the price will ease a little. But 50mm range is already of no consequence to me since I got the DA limited series. The 40mm covers that range relatively well, so I'm actually thinking of letting my 50f1.4 go because my most used lens is the 21mm followed by the 40mm. I am even thinking of letting go of my Sigma 18-50 zoom too. I brought it to T3 today and kept on using the primes instead. I am more concerned about the 15mm pricing though as that's my target. My own road map involves letting go the 50mm f/1.4 and Sigma 18-50 to be replaced with the 15mm. In fact if its good, it may even replace my 21mm ! ![]()

The price sounds about right as long as the lens performs as well as the designer claimed. Besides, it's just the launch price. The price will go down at least 20 to 30 percent in two months after it's available.
I have a feeling that this lens will be selling like a hot cake ![]() |

Definitely a hot cakes! for the 55mm f1.4, but isn't the 43mm f1.8 good enough ..
so feng sold his 85mm for this 55mm hah! To use 85mm you need to have the model just for you shots. not suitable for tight areas, but still very great, realistic colour renderition ...if use it properly. |

lot of rich hobbyists here...seriously 1k for a 55mm focal length is overpriced...do u guys seriously think a shorter focal length 55 able to beat the 85 and 77 in term of bokeh?

Well I guess as usual Singapore prices for Pentax usually dont drop much even when other countries like US prices drop...
So I dun expect much for this lens as well... May have 2 consider the online option if wan to buy...
