Wheres the best pricing D40?

My wife has watched me enough to decide she wants to try DSLR rather than the P&S she uses right now and has suggested that as her Christmas present..

I have a D300 and some serious glass and so thats probably not the best place for her to start by using my gear and jumping in at the deep end, its all heavy and gets real heavy with 70-200 attached. In reading the various Rockwell, Thom and Horslett reports the D40 gets great reviews.

So where can I get the best deal on a D40 kit ?? Right now they have the D40 with 2 lenses for US 499.00 in the states anything like thet here for Xmas deals ?????

tk photo has it for abt 680. with freebies and stuff.

mscolor no longer give much freebies and its at 699. non negotiable, even have to bug for a screen protector.

Just to clarify, is the 640 TK promotion for the dual lens kit or just body/single lens kit? Thanks!
