Default Oddity on my Sony MS Pro Duo 2

Hi all

i finally made the splash to upgrade my KM5D to A700, and what a FINE camera this is.

HOwever, i am facing some minor issues and like to gather some feedback.

I am using 2 cards in A700, Scandisk CF 4G and Sony MS Pro Duo2 4G in parallel. i fully understand that the MS is slower than the CF, but my experience is that it is way too slow even for a hobbyist.

i am ok with its performance when the images are been written into the card. it is slow when trying to scroll through the images, but its is still acceptable. However when i wish to delete 1 image, the oddity / slowness came.

When i wish to delete an image, the camera accepted my command but the image is remains. So i waited for another 5 sec and execute "delete" again. The camera accepted my command but that image still remains. So i turn off the camera and tried, and the image did not get deleted.

It was only another 3 tries or so, i manage to delete that image.

Do any of you experience this oddity or slowness with your Sony MS card?

I have never seen this... What is your A700 firmware version?

Have you tried formatting the cards using your A700? Formatting them using other cams or pcs may cause some probs i think.

To check:

while your camera's switched on.

Press the MENU button to get into the camera's menus.

Then press the DISP button, and you should see a box appearing, showing the version of your firmware.

For your issue, I think it may help if you give the Memory Stick a format with the a700 body - and see if the situation improves.
