Hi guys & girls. I'm new and just got my DSLR and truthfully i have no idea about taking pictures. All the pictures are raw and unedited. Apart from getting comments from my fellow friends, i would like to improve myself in this new hobby that i picked up. I'm fine with harsh comment but please back it up with a reason. most of them are random shots, and i have no idea how to classify them, so random as it goes..
Firstly, i wana know whats lacking in this picture. in a clueless viewer POV the comments are acceptable but i know there are alot of stuff lacking in this so i would like to know what's wrong in this close up. For one prolly the mug aint full. but other than the content, i would like to know about the technical stuff such as colour and brightness or even focus. ITs my first, so do help me along. =) ![]() Last edited by ztommy; 9th December 2008 at 03:01 AM. |

NOt enough frost on the beer mug, Your focus point seems to be in the wrong position as well, shouldhad focused on the Tiger word. The WB seems to warm to my liking as well. And the Beer in the mug, no foam. and on the beer bottle no condensation. i would suggest you go lower, and capture it from there. SHow the pic of the tiger too.

tell me for what reason you want to place the focus on the handle of the mug, instead of any other areas?

Neither do I. Why did you focus on the mug? I'm not saying where you should or should not focus on, just another simple inquiry.
Since your focus is now on the mug, what are we supposed to see from it? What's the interest on it that you should place focus on it? |

I might not be the best person to comment here but most often before I shoot, I ask myself what is it that catches my attention that makes me want to capture it. There must always be a reason for capturing the shot, even if its candid. My two pennies

Taking photos is basically capturing a moment that you want to remember forever. You need to let others see what you want them to see. The photos must at least be something worth capturing. If it's not, delete it. What's with the glass handle that fascinated you so much that you have to take a picture of it? It seems like you just wanna test how close your lens can focus.
Remember that pple always notice things that is in focus first. Where you focus will play a part in your composition. Think before you press that shutter. Have fun! |
