![]() my first attempt at shooting water splash.....just couldnt get the water splash in perfect shape though...gotta practice more on how to drop the tomato properly.. ![]() stobist info : 1 flash at 1/64 power behind subject left side. |

well, on the bright side, the lighting and shutter speed are down pat.
agreed that you probably need to find another way to drop the object into the water, the splash is not very photogenic. |

hmm... mebbe an apple is too big? how about a strawberry, if you're looking for a red object. they're smaller, and probably wont splash too much?

apple would be too big i guess....![]() ei..thanks....i shot this 2 ft away from a black cloth background...I think that helped clear all the clutter away...then positioned the light so that it doesnt hit any of the backgrond... |

LOL! What i think is that maybe you have a deeper and more squarish water container. It might help in the splash part. And ask your family member to help you drop? or use a rig to drop the tomato or grape, this way it will fall straight down and you would be able to tweak how the tomato drops if you use the rig.
OT I was thinking anyone has a water proof camera? It might be quite interesting to photograph the splash from the bottom? Just an idea. |

as for the shot from the bottom..Id have to say you have a creative mind...please let me know if you are able to execute this...I dont have an underwater camera so it would be difficult for me to do this.. ![]() thanks doom
