Hi all, I'm going on an overseas trip soon...
Currently its winter time over there, so possibly maybe snowing... Any advise how to protect my camera stuff of K20D, DA16-45 n DA50-200?? By the way I using Tamrac Velocity 7x to carry my stuff.. Thanks...

just make sure you do not have problems with condensation - i.e. you take out your camera in a warm room after coming in after the cold. some examples include museums. give time for the camera to "warm up", else you might experience condensation on front element. in severe cases, rear element will fog up, and that will take very long to clear. |

Good advice night86mare. I think we take our mild weather so much for granted that we never think that such problems are day-to-day affair elsewhere.
I also recall getting zapped by static all day long when I was in Sweden. I wonder if such zapping will affect the camera or not. But then again, the camera is weather sealed, right. So as long as we do not change lens, humidity within the camera can be controlled? eg. change lens only when the air is dry. ![]()

Hmm... Looks like I can only stick 2 1 lens...
N only change when I'm in warm room... Any suggestions whether shld I use my 16-45 or 50-200 as primary lens?? I think mainly I'll take photos of the landscapes, building/structures there...

i would care more about my fingers than my camera though, it hurts to shoot in cold weather , and gloves are a pain in the ass, you lose all feeling for the buttons, etc, feels weird. bring both. you have chances to use both. unless you have a strong preference for certain perspective, then bring the range you are more comfortable with. unless it is a purely photograph trip, changing lenses is usually a pipe dream. |

Agree with cold and painful fingers.. was at the 3000m-high Alishan in Taiwan in winter 2 Decembers ago, 3 degrees, chilly wind, and much as I want to shoot, I just couldn't do it much. Lens: 2 lenses not that much or cumbersome, even if not a photography trip. Just practice changing lenses, and you'll be able to do it fast. In fact, I'll also bring along a fast 50mm for those low light/evening shots. But if with family or friends who can't wait... another story already.

I agree that the gloves will b a big hindrance... But it will b so cold if without gloves, then my fingers gotta suffer... Anyway this wont b a photography trip... Probably I use DA16-45 as my primary lens, if i need the range then I change to my DA50-200. Practice changing lens?? Haha, reminds me of army days, need to practice to dismantle n put back the M16 as fast as possible...
