    I guess ... canon lens need to stop down few stops to get really sharp images.. 16-35 mk2 is no exception.

    since they say nikon zoom lens better, canon primes better right?

    oic...all along tot 16-35 has much better optics than 17-40 & it is sharp wide open...

    IMHO, Nikon zoom with Nano coating is definitely better. I had used both 24-70s.

    As for primes, Canon is better due to their bigger apertures which Nikon still lacks in many of their Nikkor AF primes lineup. L primes are 1.4 or faster in the 24 to 85 focal length range. Fastest Nikon primes still in production today in the comparble range are 50F1.4 and 85F1.4. There used to be an AF28F1.4 but price is exorbitant iirc.

    sharp is a subjective word...

    it appears to be sharp to someone, but soft to another, and then low in contrast to someone else... I suppose Blazer standard is belly belly high...
