Default Eyepiece Magnifiers

Anyone uses eyepiece magnifiers for the alphas , especially a350 which has mediocre viewfinder. I understand minolta has one thats work great, although it isn't featured in this article http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2008/0...e-alpha-dslrs/

Anyone has experience using these?

Pentax eyepiece magnifier O-ME53 cost about US$40. It's of better quality and fit into eyepiece nicely.
You can also use the Nikon DK-21. It's cheaper and cost around US$15. It's a little looser fit. Some people use a sleeve, like paper or something, to tighten.
I bought the Pentax one on-line as it's difficult to get it locally. Both magnification are about 1.2x. Not a big difference but it helps when using manual focus.
Please note that eye-start focus may not work or not work properly as it covers the sensor partially. To ovecome it, not to push the magnifier too deep in.

Nice , i most likely will get the pentax one , the lcd is hard to see ion bright sunny days and i find myself shooting through the viewfinder more often so a better eyepiece would help.

Just for info , i found a similar eye piece magnifier , the Nikon Dk-21m , only found it in stock at Camera Workshop. I dont think you will have luck finding the pentax one at stores, hardly many shops even carry pentax cameras.

It fits perfectly. I highly recommend it if you don't wear glasses. With glasses still need to move your eyes here and there to see everything.

How do you find it? Also, how much did you pay for it, if you don't mind sharing?

I find myself not using it anymore , its very fatiguing to have your eye move down and up to see the data at the bottom which is crucial for me. So i am back to plain ole sony viewfinder. Its small but at least it's in one piece.

However if you don't wear glasses it might be useful .
