Default I have a dust control question ...

I read in another thread someone mentioning using a vacuum cleaner to suck out dust from the mirror chamber. http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showt...=404346&page=2

I was wondering ... some of us have very strong household vacuums with no suction control. One setting - FULL POWER. Would it be safe to use on our DSLRs to suck out dust?

I'm sorry it's such a noob question but I haven't had mine vacuumed before, and am not an expert on sucking issues where DSLRs are concerned.

u might risk damaging ur shutter if the cleaner is too strong. happened to someone overseas. also there is a risk of static from the cleaner arcing over to ur camera if there are metal components on your cleaner as well. take note lor.

OK, thanks for sharing that Flip. I'll get a weaker vacuum if I decide to revert to mechanical sucking instead of blowing.

    Neither.

Let it swirl around and then go with the flow.
