HI guys,
I have a very stubborn dust particle on my A200 CCD. I tried to activate the CCD cleaning mechanism many times, but its still there.. Any chance sony will do the cleaning for free ? Cheers! |

and please do not touch the blower to the sensor. you can consider learning how to clean yourself. loads of people do it, as long as you are sure you have the confidence, it is actually not hard and not very dangerous. just make sure you read up on how to do it correctly, and don't try anything silly. |

I think they may clean and check for you for free if there's warranty, but no harm going there to ask. the SSC at Wisma Atria's open everyday. ![]()

That's right...
actually, a nifty thing they did the last time I sent my a100 in for maintainence (while it's still on warranty), they replaced all the rubber hand guards because they deduced that it was slightly loose, and thoroughly cleaned the machine inside out, updated the firmware and logged that all in and printed a report for me to see... all for no charge. Yo, I'm using a a200 to shoot for events and outdoor shoots. understand how you feel D:
i can suggest using a dry cotton bud (no the particles will not stick to the sensor, tried it many times) gently wipe the sensor in one direction and your sensor will be clean again! ![]() |

it's better to use lint-free cloth instead of cotton bud.

using cotton bud to wipe the dust may result in scratches on the coating or worse, more dust....
