C&C are welcome
![]() After a hard day work, its night time again.. all HDB lighting are turn on, the road is busy with cars. The red light trail is the movement of the LRT train. No post processing yet. Any advise? First thing i would like to point out photos might not be very sharp as I do not have a tripod yet. Aperture: F2/8 ISO: 200 Focal Length: 31mm Exposure: 4 secs ![]()

Yup i agree to it too .. Seems a bit over exposed haha "p Did you used f2.8 for the picture ?
Probably you used too wide of aperature + long exposure that why bit over exposed . You can try with tripod about f11 with the same shutter speed probably the result will be better.. Just my 2cents worth Cheers ![]() |

![]() What i wanna achieve in this photo is the feeling of the busy road with cars and LRT, which finally lead a viewer back home with the HDB lightings.

yes, in the end they result in a slightly overexposed picture, but iso also contributes to exposure. with the same iso and shutter speed at f/11 he will probably get an underexposed picture actually. i do not find the picture too bad, it is not fantastic, but it is a decent night shot, albeit as mentioned, slightly overexposed. use a smaller aperture, if your base iso is not 200 use iso 100.. and you probably will lengthen the shutter speed. i would also use tungsten white balance here, but that's just my preference for night shots, i do not like heavy yellow casts present in my pictures. have you tried seeing what the picture looks like when you angle your camera slightly to the right? if there are only trees there, you can get a very interesting picture, much more interesting than this, if you ask me. ![]() To use alternative white balance to reduce yellow cast. and use a slightly smaller aperture. Yeah you are right. Under F/11 its underexposed. Quite dark.

The road does not look busy. Having a light trail due to long exposure does not make a instant busy highway.
Exposure is correct for high key but your aperture is wrong. It is 2.8 and not 2/8. Get a cheap tripod and try again, your setup is not that heavy that requires a strong and expensive tripod. 1/10, 1 mark for the pink light trail. |
