Much debated 50D vs D300...still unclear which one to get..canon..more lenses..cheaper ; nikon..more ex lenses..here and there..any experienced comment?

Decide what you want to take photo of, primariliy then then decide if there is a lense from each brand that can cater for that need.
Then compare by price. Decide the one you want then then look for a compatilbe camera body. Remember, good lense tends to stay, especially the pro lense. Camera body change every year. |

both are low noised, both are powerful, both can achieve more advanced effects with its lower noise, etc save for diff in lenses and weight. Better to roll a dice (I've experience in using both), makes no diff to me.

Try the cameras. Test them, figure out which makes the most sense to use, which one you find easy to use. Don't buy on specs alone, and don't ask others to make your choices for you. Be an adult.
