Default Check for defects and maintenance

Hi all,
Just bought a Sony A300. Able to share how to check for camera defects beside looking at the exterior esp the mechanism inside. Also, what are the ways to clean my camera? Thanks in advance.

Just need to go through the manual and make sure that all the functions are working. Then put a card in the cam & mount the lens and start shooting a few sample pictures to see if the picture is ok.

For cleaning of the cam, just wipe it with a clean cloth after use and store it in the dry cabinet. You may want to get a blower and a lens pen to blow away dust and clean your lenses.

You can also send your cam to SSC for general servicing. It's free within the warranty period and cost only $10.70 (incl GST) currently after the warranty period.
