I got mine because, I thought it was a steal back then (slightly in Sept, bought from digitalfotoclub at about 370ish usd) - since I believe in terms of equivalent focal length vs max aperture value, it outshines the 12-60, but in terms of wide-angle, the 12-60 proves to be significantly at an advantage. I also thought about that having a 12-60 will blow my wallet and also myself, cos I really am a lazy person and would very much want to minimize PP - since so many pple commented on how sharp the lens were. But from your collection of lenses, I think you might underutilise it - since most pple would prefer to use the 12-60 most of the time. Despite, many pple will tell you how much different this lens can be compared to the 12-60 - there's no absolute yes and it is only down to us, as users to bring out what we want from the equipment we have. "Limitations are only excuses for upgrades", that is what I always tell myself. Thinking about your Christmas present already? :P ![]()

![]() The links were merely recommendations for those who browse this thread, whether they like it or not, it is really up to individual, like per your situation. I'm just offering them a penny of thoughts for the price wise. Cheers

I also thinking of buying frm B&H, the 14-54mm mkI. After adding courier is S$660. Just worry abt handling only. Do u think mkI will drop even further after mkII officially available?

If I am not mistaken, yr GF uses the E420 .... GET THE MKII!
With Contrast Detection AF, LV is actually decent on the E-X20 .... for GF sake .... and if she reads this forum she'll know you skimped about $200 just to get her the Mk 1 .... ![]() |

BTW, OT a bit, I personally feel that DR on E420 is way much better then E510 and I think most ppl know abt it. (I am using E420 now in KL)
