Unhappy Be Strong ...

She seems troubled recently... no matter how hard I tried to cheer her up, she can only give me such expression...
I could see sadness in her eyes...

Feel free to comment how can I improve towards the description I wrote, and also in terms of photo colors, composition etc.. Thanks

NOTE: This is a model shoot, trying to express the expression as described above.

An expression that cant be made up nor faked.
her few strains of hair across her face are noticeable and not annoying to your photo!
I like

Anyway someone will soon come to tell you read the rules for this critique corner before you post haha.

Hm, she looks tired to me more.
A fairly normal portrait with nice bokeh (which we should thank your lens for).

Sorry, I don't know how to comment on this appropriately.

Don't we have another Daniel Ho on here?

IMHO, this pic does not work for me.
1) You could see sadness in her eyes; but there isn't any eye contact, looking down.
2) Other than the nice bokeh the pic has, the subject has been cropped away at her elbow while leaving lots of space above her head.
3) i cannot sense any relation of her being strong as what suggested by your title.

Thanks for your great inputs. I did also notice space above her head. Actually I have 2 similar pics of this, but can't decide with space above her head or a tight photo (with elbow and head nicely fit onto the frame). Hehe.

And you think anyone will believe that?

The best and almost immediate improvement that can be done is to remove your name and the model's.

The photo look crafted and not a candid.

0/10 - Zero for your obviously fake writeup.

Yep, he could have just remove the girl and focus the railing. The background has interesting bokeh.

Thanks for your 0 marks.
It is a fake write up to tell the expression of the photo. Definitely not a real one.

Writeup is important because it make it easier for people to understand what you are feeling when you take the photo.

If I remove your writeup and look at the photo. This is what I can deduct:-

1) A model shoot.

Thus the photo has no meaning.

Do you also mean it's also wrong for the bokeh?

Bokeh is indeed nice, but this is the characteristic of the lenses, not your skill or motive. Thus it has no real impact on your photo score.

Thanks for your comments. Will try to do a candid next time if possible.

you will get slaughtered in p&p, i suspect, if you posted it up there.

1) the background, much too colourful. the spectacular orange bright spot in the bokeh is distracting.

2) weirdly chopped limbs that make a return later in the picture.

3) the bright spot on her nose (brighter) makes her look funny.
