Did you even try checking Sonystyle? Would answer your first question quite easily...

The reason why i ask is because i've already went to a sony shop @ bugis and sim lim and ask... and they told me they have never heard of it... dats y i am asking here in this forum and at the same time checking if there is a 3rd party vertical grip... if these post sound lame and stupid to those "experienced" people here.. than i am sorry... i thought this is a forum where "we" new comers ask "you" experienced people about info which is rather difficult for "us" newbies to get.

once again i am sorry if this post is causing some of the users here unhappiness for answering lame, stupid, questions...

thanks for the replies anyway..

Alamak bang, jangan marah le.

I believe the more bigger sony shops at Wisma Atria or Paragon shld have. I'd never been to the Bugis one but the Sim Lim Store doesn't carry much Alpha DSLR stuffs. You can try the Cathay Photo outlet selling Sony Alpha stuff.

Maybe best to call all these places first, easier on the legs.

Update: I just recalled that I saw one at Sony Style IMM in their glass case cabinet 3 days ago.. Again, try call first.

Hi

There is a vertical grip for A200, A300 and A350. They all share the same vertical grip. Simply go to SonyStyle website to look for the model. In addition, there are also third party vertical grips available. I never heard of shashinki.com before, however you can do a quick search on ebay.. Lots of third party vertical grip will come up.. However, I would still recommend you to get the original stuff as far as vertical grip is concerned.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Haha. Well, most sales people in Sg are pretty ignorant about the stuff that they sell. Website is definitely the best place to check out info. It's not a matter of newbies or not, but I guess ppl in forums (not just this one) tend to get a bit jumpy when someone is perceived as wanting to be spoonfed.

Third party grip? Dunno. Probably. There were at least 2 models available for the old A100, but they alll had reduced functionality. Get the original. shashinki.com, not dealt with them before, but have heard of them. Thing is, would you save much buying stuff from them?

hi,
I realize that Sony Style @ Wisma has the best service so far.
and probably has some of the more informed staff for alpha cameras.
if the item is not avail at the shop, they'll order it for u and they'll call u when it's avail.

Simlim one.. err.. they bochap me when I walked around area of the alpha camera display section.

Yeah I agree . Wisma Sony Style is machiam like the Holy Land for Alpha Cameras. Other areas tend to be bit lacking. But theres some difference between Sony Shop and Sony Style right ? If i rem correctly , SimLim one is Sony Shop ? Meaning its really an agent shop , not direct sony sales shop. Do correct me if I am wrong.

I stay in the West , so I frequent IMM Sony Style. Went there to query for some lenses and the remote commander trigger , most of the time out of stock. Going to Wisma next when I am free .

Nevermind those people dissing you. They're stuck up. Anyway, go to MSColour in Ang Mo Kio. They sell original vertical grips there and they sell it way cheaper than Sony. Very reliable shop. Look for Karen.

1. I'm not dissing him, my question was actually related to checking sonystyle online, where he would have seen the VG.

2. Please DO NOT post the prices you get at the stores. They are given to you in confidentiality, and posting them here could get the shop into trouble with Sony. And for MS Color, we usually talk directly to Florence. Nice lady.

3. I'm not stuck up.

Let's not get work up here.

Rashkae is right to mention that we shld at least search the net for info first b4 posting qns here.

This is to keep simple qns post to the minimum and discuss on more technical issues we might commonly share.

Also, if we would like to continue enjoying those kinda prices from local shops let's not sabo them by revealing price and shop here. If I want know, I'll PM the person instead.

1. If that's what you say. He got the wrong impression already so I guess there's nothing we can do about it.

2. Didn't know that. Edited it already.

3. Well.. Congratulations?

Yes. I totally agree with you. There's no doubt about that. BUT he could have opted to say it in a nicer way so people won't misinterpret it as being rude. I myself thought he was being an a-hole. Anyway, I edited my post already. Sorry about that price thing. Not gonna happen again.

Let's end this before it blows out of proportion.

Peace Rashkae.
