    Default Panasonic Lumix-LX3 mini-review

    Panasonic Lumix-LX3
    yet another LX3 thread!
Instead of sharing more pictures from LX3,
I shall shall pictures OF LX3.
Hope to spread the poison to more people!

    LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON f/2.0-2.8 24-60mm (35mm equiv.)
    Low noise pictures
    Sharp pictures
    HD-video recording (1280x768 at 24fps)
    Classic Rangefinder design
These are the features that won me over from upgrading to PowerShot G10.

I love the Lumix-LX3 so much that I had spread the posion!
Hence I wrote a mini write-up on it here.

    Default Size does matters

    since size does matters,
I love comparing its compact size to my usual subjects:

    LG KS20
    PSP Slim-&-Lite
    IXUS 40
    NIKKOR optics

but the photographer finds it 'bigger' than his EOS 5D

    Cool user review...

Unlike the usual user/product review that tends to focus the tons features without the human touch... his user review offer a different angle ...

    If i am a salesman,
I sure cannot make any sale,
because need to take pictures and write-up before can convince potential buyers!

I didn't do much, just trying to give interested buyers the nudge to make the kill
and possibly make every LX3 owner proud when they strut with their LX3 in the streets!
isn't it cool to 'haolian' your LX3 and have people pointing at your camera and whisper "that is the legendary LX3!! "

    W-i-c-k-e-d-!
In all, the killer-punch is the combo of bigger sensor, fast lens and OIS in a tiny package that makes tripod almost unnecessary. A legend? Yep, I'm sold.

Please advise whether the LX3 can be remotely controlled to release the shutter. I know it cannot be done wirelessly but what about with cable? Is there a port on it?

to my bestest knowledge, there is no port that can do that.
why not just use the self-timer?

1.) Self timer shoots only once. You cannot take multiple shots. And you cannot take at your own time own target, restricted to countdown.

2.) For self timer, taking a photo of yourself is a problem because the camera will focus on the background first, then when you run into the picture, you are out of focus.

I dunno why most camera do not have wireless remote, especiallu panasonic. It is so useful.

Why not u use a smaller F-stop (bigger number), for a broader DoF?

maybe the next model will have a "Smile Shutter" like G10,
where it will wait until a face comes into the frame before it fires.

Yeah it is a bit inconvenient to not have an option for wireless trigger. I think most manufacturers don't think people who will use a small point and shoot will need one or think about using one.
