    Hello people!

Anyone knows where can i get cheap silk cloth? Well doesnt have to be silk. Can be white cloth with similar texture also.

I know there's plenty at arab street. Anyone has any experience in this? What's the price range like?

    they go by meter.

    range from 5-20+ IIRC.

i had bought so much fabric that i lost count.
satin is nice...but do watch out for reflections.
    especially in studio setups.

Uh this might sound silly but do i need to iron them before rolling? How about maintenance?

Oil service twice per year and clean the filters ... erm ... no. Maybe your mother or grandmother could help? Usually they know how to handle such fabrics

    the ironing is an a$$.

quite a pain.especially if you have a super big cloth.
    do not use high heat.
else, bye bye...you have to make a trip back to arab street.

for really expensive fabric, put a cloth over it and iron the fabric.NO direct heat.
when you buy the fabric, tell them give you the cylindrical cardboard roll so that you can roll the fabric up and transport with it.

if you only buying 1 meter, dont even ask.sure genna K.

    spotlight ones are quite limited.
    and especially the width.
it's hard to get a full length shot.unless you are doing halfbody or head shots.

    my 1 cent

If your doing product shots, especially macro work, be mindful of the type of fabric, the texture might show on close up and could look ugly and distraction to the picture.
