Unhappy Printer problem

Just bought the Canon Xnu i255 yesterday from comex. I am encountering some problems now. My system will hang/freeze once I send print jobs to printer. May I know what could possibly be the problem? I already re-installed the printer driver a couple of times already.

Regards

I bought a i255 in COMEX too! Didn't encounter the same problem. But when I print photo; its has a 5mm white line at before the end of the print. Not really sure what the cause?

BTW, what OS u r using? I use Windows XP. When send print job I had to wait a few minutes.

I am using win98Se. It does meet the requirement of the printer.

AMD 1.0GHz. Cannot use parallel port for this printer.

well, you guys can try applying whatever service packs MS has. This might solve some problems. The latest SP for XP is SP1 or SP1a.

Anyway, hate to tell you this, but you should have bought the i450 ($169) instead. It and the i850 has the best photo quality printout of the 3-color Canons, and is only slightly beaten by the i950. The i470 is not as good even though it uses the same engine as the i450. The soon to be available i560 will be the best bang for buck - as fast as the i850, uses think tanks, great photo quality, and much cheaper.

Ah well, we all live and learn.

AMD ? My AMD 1.13 also used to have problems with USB, not printer though but with usb modem. Seem like there a USB problem with the VIA Southbridge. I had to flash a patched BIOS and then through some tweaking then managed to get pass the problem.
Maybe you can try to read this website and try the patch to see if it works.
