    as wat bro rashkae has said, prime lenses will give the best results, but that does not mean you cant get the effect using a zoom lens. take for example the picture above, its taken using a 16-80mm at f4.5 .. its all a matter of playing with the depth of field, where not only the aperture plays a part, but the distance between the subject, background and yourself plays a vital role as well.
