Default Focusing problem on 14-35mm

Not sure anyone tried taking this pro lens on low lighting and encounter focusing problem?
The lens will have problem lock on the focus point.

There was a factory recall of sorts (soft recall) for this lens, bring it back to Olympus for them to fix it for you. Not sure if they did that for Singapore.

I had a working copy and a problematic copy, and they were both from two different batches.

i realised that in backlight conditions, the bright areas are in focus, not where the focus point is at.
i dun remember having this problem with other lenses.

Having this problem when tried on my E3. With same environment and lighting, NO problem with my 14-54mm.

I called Olympus Service centre, they asked me to brought my set for them to test and align... which I told them unless they are find solution, I'll wait. But quite disappointed for this is a prime lens.

I believe they already have solution. Why not try sending it back to service center ? :-)

Yes. I've tried it on my E3. Happen in low light environment. The same did not happen on the 14-54mm.

And it happen on a Super High Grade lens.
Another friend on mine take his lens to japan for recal, but this problem still exist.
I think it's probably due to firmware.

I still need the lens so can't leave with them for weeks. And I think it's unfair because only got it for a week plus.

the more you leave it unfixed - the longer you have it unfixed. the faster you send it in to be fixed - the faster it is fixed.
sometimes cannot help it because the parts need to be ordered from japan, and with the impending holiday season and staff shortage due to holiday you know what will happen. If the technician here cannot fix it they may have to send it to Japan or China to get it fixed ... so it takes time.

Words of wisdom indeed...
