Default Archos AV-340

Just bought this from Comex today. Comes with a 3.8" LCD screen and a 40GB hard disk. The size of it is smaller than a 3R photo, but the resolution of the screen is relatively good.

Comes with a Digital Video Recorder which allows you to record up to 23hrs of video into its 40GB HD at near DVD quality. Plugged it into my TV just now and the claim is accurate. The quality of the video is seamless and there is no lag, jagged edges or dropped frames.

One of the reasons why I bought this is to transfer the images from the digicam to the AV340. It comes with a CF adapter (you'll have to buy the SD, MS or SM adapters for about $65). With the CF adapter, you can transfer all your digital images from the CF card to the AV-340 just like you would with a X-Drive photo wallet or something like that.

Although the Av340 doesn't come cheap ($1300), the usefulness of the product will definitely pay for itself in no time.

The 400 series is going to hit the streets anytime now. You might want to wait and see for now.

Thanks for the info guys. I just want something to store my digital photos as well as mp3s. Any other products you can recommend? Is the Innoplus Phototainer/Flashtrax any good?

Thanks
