Hey everyone.
Erm i Just want to do a survey, coz I can’t make up my mind. If you’ve experience using them, it’s even better. Was hoping that you can rank the following manfrotto tripods below according to stability, weight, price, quality (materials used e.g CF) how versatile and user friendly tripod is. (1-3). 190pro chrome 190xprob 190cx3 If u have other alternatives you can also list them here. Thanks for reading this. Last edited by whatcamerashouldibuy; 27th November 2008 at 11:46 PM. As from my previous post to you...
Go to TK photo, they have series of tripods there for you to try out with yr current setup. Gitzo,Manfrotto,Benro so sure got 1 will fit into yr needs. *BTW forgot to add, you can ask James @ TK foto for his opinions/suggestion. Last edited by jnet6; 25th November 2008 at 10:06 PM. |

I was looking at tripods just now, comparing the 190xprob and 055xprob, my conclusion, i find the 190xprob cross head a definite plus compared to the rest but if you want stability for long exposure, I'd go for the 055 series instead (but heavy)

what are you using the tripod for?
i already have a tripod that i leave in my car. built like a tank, damn solid. but i'm now looking for a travel tripod (that's why i posted in the travelling gear thread). something small light and useable. doesn't have to be built like a tank. what's most important is the weight and the folded up size. small and compact over heavy and redundant stability. i think you should ask yourself what you want from the tripod before buying. all the manfrottos you listed look big and bulky! haha. and from past experience (before i got my car), i rarely took my tripod out. too heavy to lug around. so yes, even if you're not using the tripod to travel overseas, travelling around in sg can be just as much a bitch (should you not have your own wheels) hope this helps. PS since you're hunting for a tripod, do me a favour, look out for a cheap and sturdy travel tripod for me! HAHAHA. thanks! |

I have 190xpro and my friend has a the cx3. Here's my opinion
stability - 190pro (slightly heavier) weight - 190cx3 (CF) price - 190pro versatility - 190xpro (adjustable centre column)

why not come out a little bit more money and get a 190XprobCX3 or 190XprobCX4?
That would be better than any of the other 3 mentioned above. ![]() |

Can only adjust height but not make it horizontal. only the xpro versions can.
