Might I suggest a bit of research? Most of the differences are quite obvious (full-frame vs. crop)

points to take note:
1) Full frame - DT lens can still be used but has limitations. Vignetting, metering issue. 2) 24mp - You need a lot of HD space! but you still can shoot at 12mp - not critical issue. 3) No Pop up flash - if you don't have an external flash with you in an emergency, then too bad. 4) no pop up flash = no wireless trigger with on board flash. 5) brilliant optical viewfinder for A900 6) A900 is bigger & heavier. Perhaps those with A700 and A900 can advise what features did you missed when are you using A900. |

What are your needs? What do you wish to shoot? And of course, what's your budget?

There are many occasions in which JPEG are very useful. In fact I shoot JPEG almsot exclusively... If you take > 3000+ shots on a holiday, I don't think you want to batch process all as RAW files... also unless you print at very large sizes and quality, you can't tell the difference at viewing distance. |

Dear guys,
thanks for all the advises. I just bought a sony DSLR A700. I am quite satisfied of the performances. Much responsive as faster as compared to A100 and also nosie control are much better. But i wish to start another discussion: Need your expertise on the live view Pros and Cons. So far DSLR had progressed to even use Live view for shooting. Are they optional or a must have technologies? |

optional to me, it's helpful at time when try to get some difficult angle shots.
I personal think that Video taking would be a better function than simple live view.

LiveView is definitely useful if you want to take low-angle shots without breaking your back, and you certainly get a high hit-rate if you're going to do overhead shots. Also very good for studio shots for static subjects as you don't have to keep peering through the viewfinder. I took the A350 when I went on holiday, and LV definitely came in handy on more than a few occasions. However, when I use the A700, do I miss the LV? Somehow, no. With enough experience, you kinda know how much to tilt the camera when you hold it above your head or below your waist. It does take some practice, but once you know how, your hit-rate can also be very high without even having to use the viewfinder. In this way, it allows me to work much faster, especially under high-pressure situations. In such cases, having LV would probably slow me down, and ironically, lead to more missed shots.

so in fact skills are more essential important than just relying on technologies. Thanks for your advises.
