Default nikon d90 kit service

i want to bring my camera in to get the sensor and view finder cleaned. i have the d90 kit, bought from a legit nikon dealer listed on their singapore website, so it's still under warranty. i'm going back to the US, so want to get it cleaned here right before i go back home cuz not sure if they will accept the singapore warranty for the camera body back in the US. i have read that it has been done (as i understand, nikon camera bodies are covered only in country of purchase, right?), but don't want to take the risk. anyone know where in singapore to bring it in and how long it will take? and is this servicing covered under warranty, or do i have to pay a fee? thanks in advance!

If it is under warranty, the sensor cleaning is free... but I'm not sure about view finder...

If it ain't broke, don't fix it... I believe it should be barely a couple of months old.. If there are no dirt on the sensor, then it's better not to touch it. Just my 2c.

Why would you want to clean a brand new camera?

Yes, Nikon only gives local warranty for camera bodies. You can visit NSC at Xerox towers to have your camera sensor cleaned FOC under warranty. They should be able to get the job done within a day.

But like what the others mentioned, why do you need to clean such a new body?

Cleaning viewfinder is my most painful experience about DSLR. You had better never touch the viewfinder, especially the focus screen. Even you bring your cam to the NSC, they are somehow reluctant to clean it for you because they said that it would not be 100% clean after serviced. So, you just leave you viewfinder as it was.

If it's not soiled, just blowing with a blower should suffice.
