Default 450D or D90

I'm looking for an entry level camera and am stuck between the 450D and the D90. I love doing mainly portrait shots. Not so much of a landscape fan though. Can someone advise?

Go to the shop to play around with them the decide. Some people may feel that Nikon fits them better and more intuitively, others vice versa. You won't know what's more suitable for you until you try them both.

I think the lens will play a bigger part than the camera will.

The statement is true if you're still shooting film.

use prime lenses for portraits. 50mm f1.8 is a great lens to start with cos its cheap

Like what lsisaxon said, it's better to test the cameras out if you haven't done so. The most important thing is to shoot with a camera that feels comfortable in your hands.

Why did the TS double post this thread?

He has the exact same thread under Newbie's Corner.

Hmm, did the TS do a triple post, by posting the same thread in Canon sub forum?

Anyway, the TS has much more replies at Newbie's Corner.

At the end of the day, which camera to buy depends on how you feel about the camera. Which has the specs that suits you.

I Agree With lsisaxon Fell Which Camera U Would Like Better. But I Think U Should Get A D90 Although 450D Might Be Cheaper But Still D90 Is Better. D90 Has It's Video Function Whereas The 450D Doesn't Have. The Bottom Line Is Up To U

It's only better if he thinks it's better. If he already has a mindset to go with the Canon, he will feel that the D90 is damn lousy no matter how much improved features it has. Of course the D90 is good, otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten it to complement my D300.
