Default which tripod to buy?

hi guys,

Can anyone suggest me with a tripod to support my setup of about 1.5kg (40D + 17-55f2.8IS). Used mainly for travelling, so ideally should not be too heavy.
My budget is about $200-300 including ballhead.

I heard alot about benro behind not durable and stuff. Can anyone help me with deciding on what tripod to buy? Thank you very much.

why not u shortlist few combo yourself within your budget range n go to the shop n see, feel the product yourself? u will get lots of reply base on product with more $$ is better or somthing that user already used n claim to be good but frankly these are personal..i used benro n it screwed..what u think my reply? another person may not encounter the problem thus will highly recommend it...

Its up to you to try and decide. Some people think that durable = surviving a 10m high fall while some think durable = surviving a 0.5m high fall...

Anyway, just head down to CP at penisula to try the tripods out or head across the road to try out Jack's Benro tripods...

I find benro value for money. just ensure that their legs can tahan you leaning on it when fully tighten should be ok. as for heads, they are strong and do hold up to their stated load, just not suitable for precision work like macro.

so really your choice if this is ok for your work
