Default Looking for tailor in Bangkok

    Hey guys!

I'll be heading over to Bangkok next month. Was thinking of tailoring a few shirts. Anyone has shops recommend?

I'm looking for European cotton, fine-fine-fine stitching, french cuffs, spread collar... Hopefully under $50 sing. xP

    Hahaha...

Any info will be helpful. thanks! =)

They have very good tailors and unfortunately some shady operations where they pluck tourists.

The taxi driver may try this trick on you.
He may pretend not to understand you, even if you show him the name card of the BKK tailor, given to you by a friend in Singapore.
He may also pretend not to understand English.

He may instead bring you to another tailor of his choice and where he gets commissions. Yes, he knows it is not the place you want. But he shrugs and by his behavior suggests this tailor is just as good.

    Try Vogue Tailors.

They were at Siam Square behind Novotel Hotel some time back but I remembered having seen an email from the tailor that they have moved. Can't find that email tho....

<$50 for a shirt. I had been getting Jerry (Owner) to tailor my suit, shirt and pants for the past 3 years now. And oh, he does mailing service to Singapore in the event that you do not go over to BKK as well....

Perhaps try google for the shop... ?
    Snap ?

    $50Sing. hmm....
You get what you pay for.

Avoid the tailors who claim to give you completed shirt/pants in 24 hours.

Here are some who advertise a lot, from my travel magazines and brochures collected while in BKK.

All these shown below are at Amarin Plaza.

    EN - ELLE BOUTIQUE 02-256-9039

    MARCO TAILOR TAILOR 02-256-9038

    RJ OUMO TAILOR 02- 256-9966

    NEW JASS FASHIONS TAILOR 02-2529493

Amarin Plaza is located right in the heart of shopping district of Bangkok – the Ratchaprasong where the world famous Erawan Shrine is also situated. The shopping complex and its tower is next to Erawan Bangkok Boutique Mall and Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok.

If you want high-end boutique-tailor, go to Gaysorn Plaza. $$$$$$
    Located diagonally opposite Amarin.

Also can look see at Emporium at Sukhumvit Soi 24, Phrom Phong Stn.

If want cheaper range just walk along Sukhumvit Road or maybe the Siam Square area.

And these last two are probably reliable. Check it out.

Wow! Thanks for the info guys!

I'll go research more on these locations. Hahaha...

Yes, i know i get what i pay for. But i'm hoping to find a cheaper alternative to $95 tailored shirts from Singapore. =)

Thanks again! keep the suggestions pouring in!

Btw, does anyone mail order their shirts in from Bkk or other places like Shanghai? Was wondering, what if you mail order in and it doesnt fit you... haha..
