Default new and old 50mm f1.4

Hello all,

I'm considering buying the Nikon FF system starting with D700 and a 50mm f1.4
Because i was a user of another camera system, i am not quite sure what are the main noticeable differences between the old and incoming 50mm f1.4 g

Did some research online but there isn't much info available to begin with. Any one happens to know?

thanks

I think a most obvious difference would be the filter size, 58mm vs 52mm and the next one being the G (no aperture ring) and the AF-S.

Happy comparing..!

The new AFS 50mm f/1.4 has 9 aperture blades as compared to the AF 50mm f/1.4D which has 7 aperture blades... so the bokeh on the new AFS one should be better.
