Hi All,
I was wondering does anyone know whether they will release a D90 with 18-200VR lens kit? I did a search and noticed in Australiathis kit is avaliable. http://www.shopbot.com.au/pp-nikon-d...ce-127431.html I was considering getting a D90 BO and a 18-200VR but don't know whether it's better to wait for the kit to be release first of just get from Alan Photo now there is a Xmas sale! Decisions, decisions... ![]() |

unlikely that they will release the kit...when i say kit i mean the d90 coming together with the 18-200, packed in the same box. I believe that for other models, there were also 18-200 kits, elsewhere...but never really in singapore..unless its imported.
Locally, so far the closest i have seen would be those packages the shops put up during the IT fair....but that's pretty the same as buying them separately ...cause the lens comes with its own box....and i dun think its any much cheaper. yep....so no use waiting..unless u looking for an imported set. If u wanna save money, can buy the lens second hand...the price has dropped a fair bit since 6mths ago....brand new is like 1k, compared to 1.2k last time...and second hand prices are around 800+? *but do take note if u are not aware....that a few have reported a design flaw in the lens....cases whereby the lens broke down on them.....but then again, have heard of other lenses which broke down too...just that for the 18-200mm, probably due to the design constrain ....perhaps its more prone to that...nonetheless, for the 11mths that i owned the 18-200, it was a joy to use, especially for my level then....so i trust you would feel the same too=)* Good luck with yr purchase =) (i personally recommend lord's and TK foto when purchasing Nikon products...) |

sss321, here in Thailand we got D90 and 18-200 VR kit come in one box (similar to the 18-105 VR kit).
The sellers says the kit from Singapore.

![]() Having a production plant in Thailand does not mean the Thais will get locally produced equipment. Maybe the plant produces for exports. But well I'm just suggesting...

Most of the time it's like that. The factory doesn't release the goods straight into the market but will go through the regional sales office. So on paper it may seem like a SG set but in actual fact it should be straight from the Thai factory. I don't think the distribution people are so silly to incur shipping twice.

I don't know...
but what's the difference between buying a '18-200VR/D90' kit and buying a D90 (body only) and a 18-200VR ?! ![]() |

4 GB SD card + card reader + additional battery + camera bag + tripod = approx. S$400 The 4 GB SD card, card reader and battery probably works out to about S$100-odd, which means the camera bag and tripod better be worth S$300... edit: If I'm not wrong, I think certain shops are offering similar bundles for cheaper too... but bundles being bundles, we never know what are actually included until we visit the shops. YMMV.
