Hi,

I got a Emobitz flash from my frd. It is a 4 pin square with a center pin on top. I say it is for canon mount.
I use it , i t work. Then i use it on my olympus E 500. It also work.. How come?

What is TTL?

some pin holes just connect correctly maybe?

but i think its bad for the camera IMO.

for example. a panaonic flash can work on a olyumpus dSLR and a canon dSLR. yea

Hotshoe technology isnt exactly propritary technology. There are flash out there that work with just about any camera but what happens is that lose more or less the more detailed flash controls that are available in original flash. Just becareful as there are also flash that work well in film camera but cannot work with digital cameras.

depends a lot on whether you need the features vs the amount you are willing to spend.

For olympus the pin is 3 plus 1 in the center. It still work.

u just need the flash to have a centre pin and it will work. but only on manual because that is the basic contact to operate the hotshoe attachments even for radio triggers. it is the point where the camera makes the attachment fire off.

If the flash is 4 puls 1 center pin mean it is fully connect to Canon body .
Then It will produce TTL?

it stands for Through The Lens, where the metering is done through the camera and is suppose to be more accurate. ETTL and ETTL II is what is being used on canon cameras.
