Rebel Xsi/450D Challenge

Hi all, members of the Rebel Xsi/450D club now brings you the Rebel Xsi/450D Challenge

It is not a competition but just something we have come up with to provide all with a regular topic to shoot. There are times when we want to go out to take photos but have no plan or idea of what to shoot so this would be something you may want to follow if you have the time.

It is also a place where we can see photos of the same topic but done differently and hopefully inspire you with new ideas.

We are currently coming up with topics based on the letters of the alphabets (A, B, C, etc.) and then with the letter we come up with some topics and vote. Voting is done by members of the Rebel Xsi Club via Flickr and majority wins.

At this pace we should have a long time before we hit the letter "Z" so participate at any point.

Basic Rules for the Rebel Xsi/450D Challenge

This is not a competition and totally just for fun.
2 weeks time frame to get your best shot (prefer to be taken with a 450D).
Post your best shot in CS Rebel Xsi/450D Challenge thread. Only 1 photo per participant so make it your best.
After close of submission, 1 week for votes on the top 3 photos
1 vote per nick (voting open to all even outside 450D users)
No prizes cuz no budget. But top 3 to photos will be highlighted and we all get to share different photos of the same topic.

Voting has ended...the very first Rebel Xsi/450D challenge topic by majority is:-

Animal!!!!!!!

All are welcome to take your best shot and interpretation of the topic "Animal".

Remember, it can be anything within the topic just make it your best (e.g. clouds looking like an animal, stuff animal, your pet, people dressed up like animal, etc.)

So post your photo here and let us all see your best. Also, if possible, add a little background story for your shot so we can know a little about your photo. This topic will end on 5 Dec 2008 at 0900hrs and we will start the voting then.

shouldn't it be "MUST be taken with a 450D" rather than "prefer to be taken with a 450D". since it is a 450D Challenge?

Thought about that but realised that some of our Rebel Xsi/450D club members have upgrade their camera recently but we still welcome their participation. Also, it would be alot of work to check all photos to ensure that they were all taken with a Canon 450D. Right now, only got me to do the admin work for this challenge.

Lastly, CS is a place to share, so it would not really be right to restrict too much...that's why in the end decided to use the word "prefer" than "must". Anway, this is first time we doing this challenge and we see how the response is...maybe if we restrict to 450D users only get 10 photos, if more can reconsider?

This is very nice thread for all of us using 450D. Just a suggestion to the moderator, anyone who violates the rule the post must be deleted to keep this thread clean and eliminate out of topic discussion.....just my two cents guys...

Happy Shooting on our 1st Challenge...(still looking for an ANIMAL model
