I almost dun use the AutoWB on D100 once I've calibrated the Pre-WB. Now my Pre-WB gives accurate colour 95% of the time.

Well, almost, I've used it for natural lighting inside buildings, outdoors (non direct sun), studio lighting (high key and low key) and a few other occasions. If I find the colour unsatisfactory, then I changed to the specific WB like tungsten, fluorescence, etc.

Some of the occasions that I will not use my Pre-WB is under direct sun, foreground dim and background bright or when need arises to change to the WB.

Almost all the time. Unless it is very cloudy or late evening light, then i use the cloudy WB (otherwise the effect is too strong).

I'm using AWB most of the times. I guess 10D has an AWB that can be trusted.
