I thought the GX20 and the K20 have the same sensor?
![]() why is the K20's position lower than the GX20?

Sorry for interrupting this Pentax thread, but was also wondering what it really meant as the D90 on the results show that is is the best DSLR which is a non-full frame camera. Is this true? Can anyone explain to me what it really means? And really funny that the EOS 50D is lousier than the 40D? Just food for thought doh.

k10d in position 10 has these scores: color depth 22.7 dr 11.6 low light iso 611 versus k20d color depth 22.9 (higher) dr 11.1 (lower) low light iso 740 (higher) but overall score k20d < k10d there's probably a value for money component in these, which makes it a tad silly, because the camera price is dicatated by many other things, such as the frills on the side, e.g. in camera stabilisation (between brands) among other things |

they're not measuring the camera as a total package (hence a possible reason why D700 was better ranked than the 1DsMIII).. but just the sensor performance.. but still doesn't explain how they came up with that final rating..

take for example d90 (overall 72.6 costing 1235 usd) color depth 22.7 dr 12.5 low light iso 977 versus 5d (overall 70.9 costing 2000 usd) color depth 22.9 (higher) dr 11.1 (slightly lower) low light iso 1368 (way higher) which brings us to the question - is there any page where they actually explain properly how the final score was achieved? also not sure what the pricing given on the page is. k20d costs LESS than k10d (usd770 versus usd900) and gx20 costs MORE than both (usd1000+).. where did they get their info from? launch price? but k20d has always costed more for launch price. I alway thought their are exactly the same thing with a different badge.it seem GX20 has higher resolution (15 Mpix) and better Pixel pitch. But K20D has larger ISO 6400. So we shouldn't call Samsung GX20 a K20D clone but a enhanced K20D or K20D mark II? ![]() |

It seems to go strictly according their "DxOMark Sensor" result, nothing else. Descending order for this value. But how they come to that final figure I still need to read up. But funny to see a Leica M8 ranking lower than a Canon 350D

The Pentax K20D sensor and the Samsung GX20 sensor specs are identical. The CMOS sensor is 15.1megapixel (total), and 14.6 megapixel (effective) Both sensors have identical resolution in pixels: RAW 14.6 Mp (4,688 x 3,104 pixels) JPEG 14.6 Mp (4,672 x 3,104 pixels)

We knew K10D is a great camera, it almost swept all the awards last year
Many of use here have used both the K10D and K20D camera, and we also know that K20D is better camera than the K10D. By my own experiences, K20D has a far superior sensor than the K10D ![]() |
