Thread: Who reads English Comics?

    Default Who reads English Comics?

anyone out there read english comics?

    preferably non marvel/image/wild storm kinds..

    mainly Vertigo, Darkhorse, etc?

My personal faves are preacher and sandman both by Vertigo...

i actually painstakingly collected EVERY SINGLE issue from each of the series... Preacher was more recent, and sandman started back in 87, ended around '90...

as such i have the ENTIRE sets of them, in NM/M condition!!

    anyother fans?

hmmm... i collect only one character's book, Wolverine. Got every issue from 91 onwards, still looking for no. 90 (anyone out there with one for sale?) have about 60% of issues from no. 90 below.

Also collect any of Wolverine's crossovers, annuals, specials, team-ups, etc.

I got some mint collectables comics: Spidey (some #1), wolverine (I think 1# onwards), ghost rider, punisher(I think 1# onwards), batmans.

Estimated to have 100+ collectables comics plus a lot other non-pricey comics.

Wanna sell them very cheaply to serious collectors as I'll be moving next year. Price will be ard SGD250 (should be worth a lot more). Note, only comic collectors only, I do not wanna give up collection to non-comic hobbyist.

Condition: Must take the whole lot as I cannot bear throwing away comics and do not have time to sell indivdually.

PM me or email me @ offspring.clubsnap.org

i'd be interested in your wolverine books, if you're willing to make an exception and sell separately.

For those who have PMed me:

I will do a post this weekend on all the comics I have. Will sell all at one go - no individual comics or sets. I can make money by doing the latter, but I'm just giving up for a serious collector for a fee for me to buy my 1.4TC and a mono.

The comics I have should worth a small fortune.

The spidey #1 (4x - 2 sealed and signed by creator Stan Lee, 2 collectors mint) I have is released in 1986, not the 1960s serious. The spidey itself should be worth $180 already. I believe I have Wolverine #1 -#20. The wolverine set is worth more than $250.

    Cheers

Used to collect. Many eons ago...

Xmen, Silver Surfer, Xcalibur, XFactor, Spidey, Shadow, XForce, New Mutants, PowerPack..... etc
But my fav was Blood (the 4-issue variant)

Still have most of them but have wanted to let them go too... need space on my shelves. Sigh.

Are there collectors interested in buying marvels mainly from the 80s? I have quite a lot actually but dunno what sort of value. If i can sell in lots to get rid of those that didn't appreciate as much even better

Is there any online price guide I can refer to?

I estimate my comics to worth at least SGD1k or more. I will give up for SGD300 neg based on 2 conditions:

    1) Must take the whole lot (self pick up, I'm moving)
    2) Must be serious comic collector (price is only for collectors not for someone looking for quick bucks)

No sales of individual set, Go buck the buyer next time. I will end the sale this friday.

PM me, email me at offspring@clubsnap.org or sms at 97466771.

    Yeah Sandman is excellent.

    Also worth reading -

    Maus 1
    Maus 2
    Ghost World

All these comics are totally different from the normal superhero style comics. Much more interesting also. Most superhero style comics have so many issues that they are just repeating the same old things in new forms.

One of the better superhero style comics is DC's Kingdom Come. At least something new in the story and presentation.
