will include 40-150 (mk1 or 2) if more budget is given.

Why not 09-18, 18-180? It covers all range?
But 18-180 is not a recommended lens rite?

alternatively, if you need something for low light work, do consider the Sigma 30/f1.4 as your third lens.

for me,would be 14-42,40-150 and my third lens would be based on what i use most often,70-300 for animal shots
35 macro if i shoot a lot of details 25 for portriats if i shoot a lot of human and 9-18 if i shoot a lot of landscape since I shoot animals more, personally,i prefer 70-300,35 must go pretty close to get good magnification,i prefer sniping so of course would be my trusty 50-200(OT) or 70-300 and might wanna try out landscape,so depends on where i go,maybe 9-18 haha, dang,my post so long, lol

Best upgrade? My personal favourite - the 14-54/2.8-3.5. It will replace your 14-42. And you'll use the rest less A second hand 14-54 will cost about the same price as either the 9-18 or the 70-300 .......Best lens for the least price? 25/2.8 if you can get it for < $250. |

Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6
Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F4.0-5.6 Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 This is probably the best set up..with SG glasses.. If you are planning to upgrade, drop the 14-42 and get the 12-60....I would still want to keep the 40-150 cos I realised its absolutely brilliant for portraits... Though ideal set up would be (considering a bit more than whats affordable) drop all three mentioned above and get...12-60, 50-200..good coverage with brilliant performace... |

my take as my signature shows with that i think i have completed my collection.... ...
25mm f2.8, 70-300mm f4-5.6 and 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 is my combination suggestion is because tele is something that you want to go far where it(70-300) is really that far... ... 25mm f2.8 will be best for portraits if you like to take image of people and keep background blur(nice bokeh) and 14-42 is utility use. for portraits 70-300 is also a good lens just only that you have to stand far in order to get your subject clear and background to have great blur/bokeh... ... tested and proven.
