Is it a sin if I have been shooting all along without a flash?

It is not a sin. Many people started photography without using any flash, until, they need to give the photo to someone on events and gatherings.

I almost avoid taking events. Only go for candid street and portraits and an occasional landscape.

Sometimes for indoor shots i use a external flash, mainly to bounce off the ceiling. Brightens up the whole picture, no harsh shadows, room background is intact, and better depth of focus due to smaller apertures.

You choose what you want to shoot. You can shoot without flash all the time if it is not needed.

Almost never. But I sparingly use the pop-up flash for events, along with cigarette box diffuser.

Use my sigma 530 flash indoors mainly. Having fun trying out DIY diffuser, bounce cards etc

C'mon, need to be realistic here, don't expect too much from the on-board flash of any DSLR.
With a Guide Number of 12-13(ISO 100/m) don't expect miracles. The flash coverage is supposed to cover the angle of view of an 18mm lens but light fall off and even coverage is always going to be an issue. Plus as power is drawn from the camera's batteries, instant recharging is never going to happen.

Don't have external flash, and only used my pop-out a handful of times (with the Lumiquest diffuser).
In short, am not a flash person.

Events, Macro, Birding - External Flash
Travel, occasional streets, landscape shots - don't use or just use on-board.
