Default Powerex Imedions

This question is specific to SONY or Minolta or KM flashes...

Anyone has used them? For flash particularly.. I'm using the 5600HS(D).

Some questions:

1) Do they recharge as fast as the Powerex 2700 mAh batteries?

2) Is there a significant difference in capacity compared to the Powerex 2700 mAh batteries?

I'm thinking of trading in some older batteries, but can't decide whether to go ahead with buying more Powerex 2700 batteries or try the new Imedions...

Any experience soul here?

1) Imedion are rated 2100mAh, thus it should charge faster than the powerex 2700mAh batt.
2) Not really significant, 2100mAh VS 2700mAh. If you are those that flash alot and emptied the batt in one shoot, then maybe 2700mAh last longer. But if u are those who dun flash frequently or uses the flash like once a week for several wks, then imedion will last longer as it can hold the charge longer. So far i have been using imedion with no problems. I am those who dun use flash tat frequent, thus one charge can last me a few mths in a few shoots.

Hope this clarifies your doubts. Also best is to get a better charger than can recycle/refresh the batt after a few charges, coz normally rechargeble batteries will reduce its capacity as u used it along the way. ITs good to recycle/refresh the batteries.

Ah my Powerex 2700 are pretty poor on holding charges over time, somewhere like two weeks, they'd go dry, and now, one set's died on me.

I've developed a liking for eneloop batteries because they hold onto the charge longer, and seems to last longer.

My Powerex 2700 tends to run out of juice quicker than the eneloops, and they need a battery refresh more often to keep their performance up.

I'm planning to do a big switch to Powerex Imedions when they have a trade in offer coming around the corner - probably will get the offer during Sitex.

2700mAh batteries tend to recycle your flashes faster and harder than 2200mAH ones do, and if you are not careful, you may end up frying your flash gun...

No necessarily obvious that the 2100mAh will not last as long... the Imedions actually hold charge better and longer, so the chemistry inside the batteries is different, that may make a difference to the way the power is discharged and so may last for more shots...

Yeah I noticed the advert at the top of the page... but need coupon or not? You sure it's $16 for AAs and not for AAAs? Just need to clarify...

No need coupon or cutout...
just bring 4 old rechargable AA to trade in.
Just bought Imedions @$16 from them Friday...

But just a note, 2700mA is not in stock at the moment.
They were saying new stock in 2 - 3 weeks time.
