hi guys.. I've been considering buying a ND filter for landscape on film camera. but there are a few doubts..
i notice that all screw-on ND filter, the graduation line in just in the centre, well does that mean if i take landscape shot with it, always need to put horizon in the middle? for these square type of ND filter , how is it put on the lens? also i somehow feel the quality is not as good as circular screw-on type, will it affect image quality significantly? and any good suggestions for brand? |

what gave you the idea that quality is not as good as circular screw on? go and buy singh ray, US99-120 per piece, if quality no good no one want to buy
![]() get the square type. you use an adaptor ring.. you get a filter holder, and voila you get a filter holder on your lens. all this is incidentally, information only very easily available on the net with a google away. gotta love the resourcefulness of people today |

yeah, like what was said earlier...square ones are equally good or better...
u can compare a super cheap screw on with an average square one..very obvious which one is better... for budget ones, usually ppl will go for Cokin or Tianya brand...tianya being cheaper than cokin.... yes if u use screw ins your are restricted to having the horizon in the centre...most of the time... Square ND grads are more appropriate.... |

Just use the Cokin P Wide-Angle Holder (BPW-700) P299, with a TianYa GnD? I think for a basic setup, can liao.
