What camera are you using now? Why got Sony & Canon?
Basically they are of different mount so the lens itself is not interchangeable between the 2 different makes.

For third party lens manufacturers, they make the same lens but with different lens mounts for all the manufacturers they decide to support. So for example the Sigma 10-20mm is made with lens mounts for SONY (alpha mount), Canon (EF mount), Nikon (AF mount), Pentax (K mount) and Sigma. If I got the mount names wrong, bros please correct me. Fujifilm SLRs use Nikon's mounts. |

Actually tamron used to manufacture adapt-all lenses.
If that tamron lens you mentioned, is an adapt-all lens, then if you buy the appropriate adaptor for Sony mount, then the lens can be mounted on your a300. But if that lens is not adapt-all, and is specifically made to suit canon mounts, then there is no way for it to be mounted on your a300.

Sony mount lenses can only be used on a Sony/KM camera and Canon mount lenses can only be used on a Canon cam.

To save money and only buy one lens to use on 2 systems.
