300D in Johore Bahru!!

Went to Angsana (next to Skudai highway) last night and saw a digital camera fair in progress. Was surprised to see the 300D with the new wide angle zoom on display and for sale.

I asked to handle the camera and I'm quite impressed with it. The grip is very comfortable and the weight is what I'm used to with my EOS 50 (I find the 10D too heavy for me). The supposedly cheapo zoom lens looks and feels good too with the wide rubber grip.

I don't know if the fair will run over the weekend. For those who are interested, RRP is RM3999 with lens and there is already a waiting list.

That works out to about S$ 1842. But still not a single sighting here in Singapore

Did not take note of where it was made. I suppose its Taiwan.

BTW, RM3999 is RRP. I suppose street price will be cheaper by a couple hundred dollars.

Anyway, not really bothered about where it is manufactured. Its really a matter of luck.

Anyone with confirmation if the 300D will be available in the upcoming Comex later this week? Really hope to have a feel of it.. very tempted to upgrade to a dslr..

But still no official review of this cam yet.. hoping to have some before making the final decision on whether to upgrade.
