Default Giottos Ball Head

Hi All,

I am building a tripod system now, looking for a suitable ball head.
Anybody knows the brand "Giottos"? Is it good to put in my money?
Looking forward to your advise
Thank you

i am using one too, cheap and nice......easy to control and pretty good if you have cost constraint.

Thank you
Markin & Kangrinpoche are very expensive.
Which model of Giottos is good? What I'm looking for is a ballhead that can withstand 15 to 20 Kg .

You have to consider not only the maximum load the ballhead can carry but also its capability to hold the entire setup in place when its tilted at at angle. That's where the better (usually more expensive) ballheads really shine. They are better in maintaining the intended position with little or virtually not unnecessary movement. I suggest you don't skim on camera support.

depending on what is it u want, manfrotto 488 (i am using the rc0) does a good job, value for money, but not smooth operation as compare to the 2 i had mentioned. also, 488 does move abit when u tighten the ball, which is significant if u use tele lens or shot closeups.

i am also very please with the quality i get from giottos mh 1303-210c, light and can take 5kg. i would say the operation and build quality is better than 488. but cant compare to markin and kongpodontknowwhatchi.

having said the above, i still can survive with the 488 and giottos. not willing to spend $$$ on the camera support cause my manfrotto 055pro and that 2 head is more than enough to meet my needs, once lock, same as those costing $400-600 heads. so the decision is urs to make.

Hmm, speaking about ball heads, Markins is definitely a high end quality brand. We get what we pay for.

Giotto's on the other hand is a budget brand, not as good as Markins, but better than Manfrotto in operation and smoothness. If you're on a budget, either save for a Markins or get a Giotto's instead of a Manfrotto.

Cheers!

Not copies of Arca Swiss just that they are Arca Swiss compatible i believe. As the person stated above, check if the ballhead can handle the stated weight at an angle.
