That's the AF assist lighting if I'm not wrong, it's normal even on the A40, I do see such lights.

Regarding your shots being blur:

1) Ur stripod is not sturdy
2) You pressed too hard and let go, the camera shook while taking the picture.

Hope it helps.

Default Hi Jessie

Hi there,

Blurness of your pictures is due to long shutter speed (esp so when taking night shots). Though you have a tripod, your picture might still turn out blur if you press the shutter by 'finger'. What i normally do with my A-60 to overcome the long shutter speed problem is to mount my camera on the tripod and use the '2 secs' self timer to take the shots. 2 seconds self timer will actually prevent the slightest 'vibration' caused by your finger if you were to use your finger to press the shutter.

Try out and tell us whether the problem is overcome. Cheers!

Regards,
Ordinaryless

i thought when the orange indicator light blinks, means auto focus failed? that explains the "blurness" cos focus is off.

Yeah, tweek is right. blinking light means picture not in focus, you'll find that your 'focusing square' instead of turning green will turn to yellow. What is that caused by? Insufficient light ?

Default yeah

Hmmm, ultrazoom got a point. Jessie, do you know you should 'half press' the shutter before fully pressing down? Half press is to focus on your subject.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I did "half press" the shutter before take the shots, but I do agree maybe it is because the insufficient light and my hand is not steady enough when shooting. I have try to use the tripod and set the self timer.. the image turn out very clear..but just a little troublesome.......
