Default print size.

Anyone could provide some answer to the maximum print size of K10 d in Jpeg or raw. Any difference between the print size of Jpeg and raw. Is it possible to print up to size 3 ft by 4 ft. I have never printed in paper before but would want to explore the possibiity. I am talking about 10m resolution images in Jpeg.ie max...

Thank you in advance.

If you're printing at a commercial printer, they'll most probably print at 300dpi (pretty standard for photobooks and albums). K10D files are at 3872 x 2592 pixels, so you can print up to 12.91 x 8.64 inches. That's actually only a little bigger than A4 size. But I have stretched and cropped a 6MP image from the K100D to print on 20 x 10 inches, and it still looks very good. So I think you can be quite generous with the rescaling.

If you're printing at 4 x 3 ft, I'd imagine it's not for viewing closeup, so the 300dpi norm is probably not applicable. Best to ask the printer what resolution files they expect from you. You can do the rescaling yourself to make sure you're happy with the file before sending for print.

Don't think raw files is the right format to use where printing is concerned...
