I am posting one 11-18 for sale on the Sony B&S sub-forum. Check it out.

For me, I stick with Sony lenses for now. As I have A900, I don't need 1118 anymore.

I saw your offer but it was very close to brand new price.

The lens might be almost brand new... i.e. used only a few times.

It is almost brand new and still have almost a year warranty. Anyhow, if you got access to a cheaper place, by all mean get it.
As we discussed in another thread, yes it is close to a HK price but then again still quite some saving from local prices. Not everyone can buy from overseas and not all my lenses/body are bought overseas. My first body A700 was bought from SonyStyle at a full price before any price reduction

11-18 is the widest you can get from APS-C from Sony (not 3rd party). For FF, 16-35/F2.8 will be the option.

The Sony SAL1118 is sweet! Relatively less distortion compared to the Sigma 10-20mm. Ultra Wide Angle lenses are bucket loads of fun. *hehehe*

My own preference is the sigma 12-24. Full frame and much nicer distortion.

Yes, the Sigma 12-24 is full frame. But it is also expensive... :P This lens will be sweet on the A900! 12mm is wider than a fisheye! (well... except for the Peleng 8mm or the Sigma 8mm fisheyes...)

i'd love to get this lens but my photography style ain't suitable for it coz have to exercise great care to prevent dirtying and hurting the front glass element since it can't accept a filter over it...

wonder if the tamron 10-24mm is FF-compatible though....

http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/detail.asp?IDLens=483

It's a DT lens, which means you might only be able to use it from 16mm or so onwards.

Dunno about the others but with my wa lens I practically have no need to focus due to the huge DOF at hyperfocal. At 12mm f11, I set to around 6 ft and practically everything - well, from 3ft to infinity at least - is in focus.
