Hi all,
Wanting to use wide-angle lens for close-ups. I already have 12-60 swd as my main lens. Should I add 7-14 f4 ($2.2k++++++!!! ), or Tokina 11-16 (Nikon Mt) + Nik-Oly Adapter to my arsenal ( $900++)?Views pl? ![]() Thanks |

get 7-14
if choose to get the 11-16 with adapter, firstly no metering, secondly cannot change aperture(not too sure about this,i assume you can't though) thirdly no auto focus (though doesn't matter to me) lastly 11-16 same view as a 22-32 lens,12-60 just take one step back more or less at that point already,or can wait for the new 9-18

ZD 7-14 mm f/4.0 is an exclusive lens in Olympus lineup.
No other lens could offer the same amazing performance imo ! ![]() |

Might as well keep the money in the bank and wait for the 9-18 if you don't want to spend the money on the 7-14... The Tokina is definitely not worth it since you already have a 12-60... not that much difference...

ya wait for 9-18 if u are not rush for it.
Actually I was curious, Y would u want to spend 900+ for 11-16mm tokina lens which u will use it only manual focus with only maybe fixed aperture if it is for nikon mount on olympus body? Y not pay ard $900 for ZD 11-22 for 2nd hand or ard 1.1k for brand new set? I think buying ZD11-22 make more sense then tokina 11-16 in term of all aspect.

What's the point of considering the 11-16 at all if you have the Oly 12-60? Does 1mm at the wide end makes so much difference? If I wanted wider I'd go for the 7-14 and would also get full camera control over the lens as bonus instead of manual focus manual aperture with the Tokina.
