Unhappy Viewfinder problem?

Hi guys

Need advice on the following problem. When I use the cam's AF, the subject through the viewfinder seems slightly out of focus but pic turns out ok. When I switch to MF to fine-tune the focus to get subject in focus, it turns out out of focus after the shot is taken. May I know wht could be the problem. I have already adjusted the diopter to make sure all the focusing points are sharp.

Regards

what cam you using ? if 10D, than you can try to adjust the Dioptric adjustment knob at the right hand side of the viewfinder. Or try to find 'somthing like that' around the what-ever cam's viewfinder.

If I'm not wrong, Falcon is using a 10D.

Well maybe you can try adjusting the Diopter. if not I think you need to calibrate your eyes?
seriously.. hard to judge which area is wrong unless there are a few other that test it. then a better judgment can be pass

I already adjusted the Diopter. According to the 10D's manual, I shld turn it till I can see the 7 AF points sharp which I did. Problem seems to occur after I got back the cam after sensor and viewfinder cleaning from canon.

issit out of focus by alot?
there can be only 2 issue
1) Ur eyes need calibration. see a optometrist
2) The canon staff adjusted the diopto viewfinder... did they touch that area?

Did you moved the camera when you press the shutter button and thats why it become slightly out of focus. Tried used a tripod and did the same thing happened ?

Yup I second that, make another trip to Canon Service Centre and notify them of the problem. Hopefully they can solve it for you.

THe main problem is that subject doesn't appear in focus when view through the viewfinder when the AF is locked but turns out sharp when shot is taken. And when MF is used, subject appears focus but OOF when shot is taken. Anyway I tried testing using tripod and it gave me the same results. This is terrible as you tend to fine tune the focus when u have the impression the focus is not locked properly when it actually is.

I guess I have to make another trip to canon. Wonder if they are willing to lend me another camera body when mine is there for service. Anyone has any experience with that?
