Default Phottix BP-D200 Vertical Grip - an Alternative to Nikon MB-D200

Phottix Premium Vertical Grip
BP-D200
an alternative to Nikon MB-D200

Phottix brand products are one of the better made products from China and largely popular and available in HK.
Phottix makes after-market 'clones' or alternatives to popular photographic accessories at a fraction of the cost.
There is seriously no reason not to order one online and mess around with it.
Since D200 is already off the retail shelves and so is the MB-D200,
an alternative option to getting a used Nikon MB-D200 is to go for the much cheaper Phottix BP-D200.

Verdict
99% the same appearance, 80% the same feel,
more than 50% savings compared to getting a used MB-D200,
however, at the expense of material quality.
No regrets getting it to play with. 100% compatible and tested useful for a wedding day shoot.
The Phottix Titan EN-EL3e batteries that came with it regained my confidence in after-market batteries,
nevertheless, still require time to tell.
Still these spare cells are useful in rotating the use of my current available Nikon EN-EL3e.
Getting this BP-D200 was further discounted due to the discontinued model D200 which I am still faithfully hanging on.
Phottix are now pushing out their versions of MB-D10 vertical D300/D700.
Yes they have Canon-related products as well.
They even have grips with LCD display on them? How reliable are they? I won't know since they were not even on originals.
One very popular product from Phottix is the remote flash commander that has received rave reviews around the globe.
more review on BP-D200 here.
