hiya all, i'm planning to get a E-420 for my gf, but im not sure whether it'll be suitable for her
so i tried to search through my budget *there goes my A200.. but i just got a FZ18 now anyway*, and best i can come up with's about 850. Which I can get her a brand new E-420 barely.. caught my eye as its light and grip should be just suitable for her. body + kit 14-42mm 800sgd body + 25mm f2.8 960sgd tried to search through the forum with 420 and e-420 as keyword but no search result.. so i'm asking some advice here. is there any IS in any form? reason being that with her LX2, she use to play around with and without IS. With IS, every picture's good. But without IS... I find it hard to give any positive comments.. she likes to take fast moving pictures, and those pics where you snap at 1/2000 onwards for those water drop/bounce effect, and sometimes scenic pics and sunset. i know the rule of thumb should help to reduce blur but.. ![]() |

hi bro,
I got my GF a E420 sometime ago... she love it for the size and weight. somehow my GF refuse to use something heavier, she refuse to use FL-36R, she normally boost ISO up to 1600 and she doesnt care. Now, you wanted to get ur GF a E420, I will say it will be the best DSLR for a lady. too small for me. there is no IS in E420, most important is no in Body IS, it is the holding technique. give me a E3, holding technique is wrong, oso will give me an earthquake image. If you need IS, go for panny leica lens with OIS onboard. maybe introduce my GF to your GF so she can explain the benefit and y she love E420. ![]() good luck. cheers!

i am worried if my GF meet your GF, they may not discuss about photography or cam, they may ended up talking about where to buy clothes or where to get their hairs done. ![]() omg!!!

if she dun mind the weight and size, E520 is oso a good choice.
